the pious
the hate mongers?
or pray tell,
is it all
of us?
is our
face-book
glorification
doomed
to become
the bonfire
of our vanities?
are we dwelling
in a vale of
swaggering
shadows?
where greed
is good
war
is peace
and profit comes
before people?
are we
destined to burn
our Icarus wings
in the heat
of the sun?
carbon-scorched
on the face
of the earth?
because we lost track
of what is real
to our existence?
because we lost track
of the true meaning
to love?
